February 8, 2021: The theme of the day is “Whew!” and I fear this will be recurring as the stakes rise daily.
Off to an early lead, I decided to part out a chair with bent legs (it was tricky trying to sit on the seat while sliding forward after all…). The parts are properly stored as I still have its twin…. and the frame is off to scrap metal recycle. The crawl space also revealed an electric blanket and a space heater… now, destined for the hospice store and e-waste, respectively. 3 down 5 to go!
A little side note: when parting something out, tell your “over thinker” to take a nap… otherwise you might find yourself trying to bend the metal to free the spring instead of simply undoing the latch….. not to mention rescuing screwdriver nibs from too small holes which does require metal bending.
Items 4 & 5 required a bit of heart twisting: a phone stand I’d picked up at an important convention and my favorite solar powered flashlight (it died awhile back, I hoped to fix it, but sadly discovered the plastic casing is sticky with that deteriorating plastic goo).
Item 6 seems like a cheat… a single completed sheet of puzzles… However, I’m counting it because of the fuss it caused today!!! It was discovered on the glass of the 4-in1 printer only after multiple jams of the feed tray occurred while attempting to fax important documents! LOL (Not to worry, once removed, fax went through — twice!)
Now, very late in the evening, items 7 & 8 came from behind to help me cross the finish line ~ 2 magazines from 2016 were hiding in a pile of papers! And we end as we began with “Whew!”
See you tomorrow!
