February 6, 2021: An interruption before returning to our regularly scheduled programming ~ a somewhat brief word from our Subplot…
A surprise happened yesterday afternoon! With new measurements in hand, the local hardware store gave me a wonderful gift! They found a scrap piece in perfect condition, cut the mirror, shaved the corners and fitted it — no charge! I am truly moved! How kind! Gothe was right ~ when you truly commit, providence will move in ways you can’t imagine to help you out.
So…. empowered by this portent last night, I thought I would attach my adornments and surprise you with the completed project this morning…. LOL! LOL! (yes, 2 LOL’s and !’s) The mirror has been fixed in place with glue and the first half inch of rocks are in one corner… Now, this is a longer story of perseverance meeting exhaustion and no lighting along with fears of retinal transplants…
Suffice it to say, glue is in places it shouldn’t be like the cell phone… I’ve finally stopped seeing spots from the million times I blinded myself with the cell phone’s flashlight while trying to spare it of glue… [ Oh! a flashlight you ask… well, all of my lamps are low light for maximum relaxing at night, so I was trying to work with a 40 Watt bulb… (ROFL!!!) so, yes, flashlight required… ] … Not to mention, I didn’t think the about the fact the stone chips I chose are minuscule and strung, so there are holes on 2 sides creating even more fun in fitting the pieces together… it’s like playing extreme micro-miniature Blockhead with glue! I think Jenga with chopsticks is easier! Well, you get the picture! ROFL!
I still look forward to sharing with you my first completed upscale, bespoke, made with so much love (but doesn’t look like it), hand mirror with wood paddle. Until then, back to our regularly scheduled programming…..
Today’s challenge of 6 feels like it came too easy with 6 plastic votive candles which have now been donated to the local hospice store. To quell this nagging sensation I should do more to honorably call it 6, I deleted a score of old emails in one account to clear backlog clutter, sent a few overdue emails to clear the clutter of my to do list, removed a couple of old text conversations to clear phone storage clutter, and washed some dishes to clear clag from my daily life.
Clag + text + to do + email + old email + candles = 6 Woohoo! On a roll now!
See you tomorrow!
